car ignition coils on bike ?
« on: June 07, 2010, 08:19:29 PM »

bike im working on updating all the ignition and electronics on has this two d battery sized things hangin off each side of the bike ,   im hoping to find one smaller package that can fire them both and i can hide it away easier...  somthing like gm coil packs,  problem i think is they have one input because they fire 2 cyl at once.  bike is a twin .   can i use pretty much any coil with the same ohm ?  voltage?   school me

i was talking about these:   or if anyone knows of anything small and cheap

I'm not sure what you have going on.  Year/make/model so I can look up info.

I could type a general dissertation, or I could wait for more info so I can type a specific dissertation.  One, two, three, GO!

bike is a 77 xs650 with points, i guess better coils can make a big difference  plus the shit on there is older then me, sometimes i think it barely fires both cyl at idle but that might be cause i suck @ carbs..  i already updated all the other electronics (reg/rectifier etc.. ) new parts from various makes and models of cars and or radio shack parts
