$299 for it.  They said it will replace the Arcade as well but they haven't specified what the cheaper one will come with.

They are no longer making the "classic" Xbox 360.  If you need to replace yours, do it now.

I have one banned 360, a bricked 360, and a broke 360 I got for free to replace.

Wondering if the new one will have one a different drive or the same one.  Either way, I'll probably just keep one flashed and one for legit play.

People whine about the cost of high-end PC's, yet buy 3-5 xboxes because of banning, bricking, and overall shitty design killing them. I can download blu-ray porn with my PC, AND display it on my plasma. And play games. And not pay for "downloadable content". From what I hear I'm only missing the xboxlive chat rooms, which are actually a poor substitute for nambla's male-male chat rooms.

Well, if they're buying 3-5 Xboxes, their intelligence is already suspect...

I paid full price for my first 360, and it was stolen.  The next one was a broken one I traded some junk to Doug for and swapped.  The other two I have are broken ones given to me for free.

My PC isn't "high end" (3.6ghz quad, 8gb ram, mid-range video...radeon 4850), but I can play all the games on it as long as I don't try to max out settings.

Either way, there's shit on the 360 that isn't on PC.  Stuff that I like to play.  Xbox Live > any other online game/movie portal.  Burning a 360 game to a $1 disc > downloading a PC game and worrying about patches/cracks/serials/updates/viruses/peniswhistles.  Also a lot of PC games are starting to get rid of dedicated servers so you HAVE to connect to theirs and thus HAVE to buy the game to be allowed to connect.  360?  Burn it and it's fully functional without any extra effort.  No pesky installations and the games always run smoothly.

I do occasionally buy downloadable content, but it's a small price to pay IMO.

I'm kinda pissed that Sony/MS are trying to drag out these consoles for another few years.  My $150 midrange video card purchased 1.5 years ago has better graphics, but oh well.

I have to send my Xbox 360 Arcade in for warranty.  The disc drive work most of the time, but occasionally it gives me the Open Tray bullshit which takes a while for the disc to finally read.  I might try to hold off in anticipation they might warranty me with a new unit.  It's doubtful, but the Arcade kind of sucks without the HD and I don't want to spend the extra $30 for a HD.  I'd also like the internal wifi as my bridged router is slow as shit.

I watched some of the E3 press conference and all the Xbox Kinect shit is stupid.  The only thing that looked cool was the ESPN crap, but I'm sure Xbox will figure out a way to ruin that.  I didn't see any of the game demo/trailers, but we all know Gears of War is going to be cool.  So will COD, Halo, and just about all the other games.  At least they will look cool.  Game play is only known once the games are played and reviews.

One big question for me is, why the fuck can't Xbox release a damn internet browser already?  You'd think that would be the next logical step.  They also didn't announce Hulu support which is fucking gay.  I'm sorry, Netflix streaming sucks.  They partner with Starz which I already have and the content they offer is C list shit.  It's garbage.  Give me internet support Xbox, you filthy faggots.

Sony and Microsoft are both trying to get a few more years out of their systems...

Sony JUST started making profit on the PS3.  Nintendo is noobs.  Microsoft has no motivation to push ahead so they are going to sit back and enjoy profiting from the hardware for a while.  It will continue to get cheaper to manufacture.  The new chips are 45nm instead of 65nm.  Same power, but is smaller, more can be made at a time, blah blah, profit.

It annoys me since the hardware is so outdated, but whatever.

I do. I just really liked live with the original xbox. It was online gaming and no bullshit. Now that everything is micro payment based, it just sucks the life out of it. If you don't buy the newest call of duty 14: modern reskin of our last game,. and all the fucking add-ons, it just sucks. It just stopped being fun.

I've since switched to PC for online gaming, never looked back. Don't have to pay an annual fee and don't have to pay for updates. Still play xbox for great single player games like Red Dead Redemption though.
