I agree with your ideals but that isn't the world we live in.  Eventually you have to grow up and accept it.  Every day more rules are imposed on us and our freedom is limited more and more.  If you don't agree with a law it isn't going to do you any good to break it.  That'll just land you in jail.  The only option is to try and have the laws changed.  The way to do that is to get to the "people" and make them realize how crazy or stupid some things are.  He was doing his job and following the law.  If you think she was right by trying to resist you're an idiot.  The only outcome of that was to get in deeper shit.  Breaking a rule you don't agree with won't make it go away.  Just go ahead and try.  That's the way 2 year olds try to solve problems.  Not adults.  Eventually we learn that it's much more successful to reason with our parents and show them our point of view.  Grow up.
