repost :)

Well, maybe not here. I found this video over three years ago about the time Vinny and Pops passed away in early 2007.

RHMT is the true spirit of hot rodding.

The passion for building your own car will never die. Be is a 23 Ford, 38 Chevy Business Coupe, 55-57 Shoe box, late 60's muscle, 80's Fox Body Mustang, or even a fast Honda.

It is a passion you BUILD into YOUR project with blood and sweat, not that you can BUY.

You think the imports are different? What did people think about the low riders in the late 60's or the Van Craze in the 70's.

It is a passion, it will never die.

those are some good words bone.

kinda got this discussion with a friend the other day about someone elses car. i can be specific too and you couldnt tell his story apart from most the hondas (any car really?) out there. same as that vid. shit is just ordered out a catalog = status...?

i bought the car i wanted, built it the way i wanted, and dont care about the status, its purity to what someone else thinks it should be, or really what you think :P

the "Hot Rod" lives.... its just harder to find...

Think of the bootleggers that ended becoming NASCAR.

They would take a 38 business coupe and drop in a Caddy motor from an amberlamps. Same idea the salt guys had.

I get some V8 guy giving me shit anymore, I link them to that video, they get the point really quick. To the point they remember a friend or father that has passed on, they are touched by it.

Yes I'm an old fart, bridging generations. Sure I'd love to have 10-11 second street machine, but not affordable right now. I have more fun playing with Honda's.

If you really wanna mess with the V8 turbo guys, if not for Duttwieler with the Buick V6, Bursher with DSM's, or RHMT hack setups they would still be running roots style blowers. The open minded RWD folks understand this, but the hilljacks will never understand, just like ricers.

Come full circle. Think were a leader in the PGMFI Honda field is working for, a Ford shop.

My grampa used to race dirt tracks in the 40's before and after the war. He did some really cool shit way back in the day. Hell my mom rebuilt the engine to her first car, IIRC it was a Falcon. RHMT is in my blood.

I think the real problem is people today are lazy and don't take the effort. They'd rather work their crappy job for a few months than learn how to work on their car for the same amount of time.
