Tuning options for 1998 corvette/ls1.
« on: August 18, 2010, 06:41:19 PM »

Bought a corvette, makes pretty good torque down low so it seems kinda cool to drive and if I was single I would be getting laid more, but it's definitely not what I would consider anything fast.

Basically I would like a h/c/i/e and maybe some spray to wake it up, Think I could do 600ish on that combo on a otherwise stock car boost in any form is probably going to be out of the question because I already blew my load on the civic.  What kind of tuning options are there.  I did a little bit of research before coming here, and it seems like most people either use ls1 edit, efi live or hp tuners.  I refuse to pay money for ls1 edit, that shit is gay lookin, I downloaded the demo version of efi live and I am not a fan of the software at all, but I guess if it gets the job done I will use it, and I have no clue about hp tuners because that shit is on lock down.

So my question is for people not biased aka the entire ls1 world, what do you guys think about these solutions?  Also it would be nice if the tuning lets me disable a bunch of shit like that faggotry handling shit the corvette has so I can put some decent shocks on it and not be throwing all kinds of codes.

I/C/E and a 150 CAN get you to 600 on stock block.... HP tuners is a good option.

By the time you pay for all that shit, (not to mention the cost of CONSTANTLY filling the bottle)...

Id boost it.

Sorry. Nothing like running out of the jug halfway through a run.

Checkout lsxnation.net if your sick of LS1tech.com. Theres a local guy named Ellis thats kind of like James/kevin/josh/and Leed rolled into one, Ive met him, his car fucking RIPS, hes cool as fuck and has tuned a few LSx guys I know.

His Camaro is retarded in the 9s all motor.

I would use efi live...  Not perfectly user friendly to new people but it does a kickass job with a boat load of options

This is what I need.  ls1tech has too much in common with H-T....and fuck TurboTechInc....not a big fan of those fags at all..been looking for someone in the area who knows what's up.  Don't get me wrong a pair of snails are not out of the question, I would just like to see 450whp on stock shortblock and add in some spray just incase....this bitch is my daily driver.

I hear ya, I'm not bashing them really, it's just that I'm not really down with the 50 yr old technology they're serving up as greatness.
