have a ? about d16a6 and z6 cranks need to know if they are the same specs!!!!

crank is worn at the keyway on my z6 and i need to get back together

Some early '88 a6 cranks had a smaller snout than the majority of a6 cranks. As long as you don't have one of those, they are direct replacements for each other.

I've seen people weld up a slopped out crank keyway and re-cut it with a dremel.  Just takes skill and patience.  It might be less work than pulling a trans, dropping a crank, n resizing all your bearings.

toss the balancer on and pound a fat nail in it the keyway then get in there and cut it off with a dremel if you want flat rate. round peg in a square hole will make contact on at least 4 sides and if your lucky makes a new key period  :noel:
