well IMO it wasnt any different than anything else Sega kicked out.  Dreamcast was awesome spec wise so was Sega Saturn but they didnt have quality titles for it let alone franchise titles and the support for it was shit.  No third party company really wanted to make games for it. 

Plus like a yeart or so after relase they basically pulled the plug for support.  Its almost as if the company wanted it to fail but hell Sony and Nintendo were big players.

this. when i was stationed in korea, a dreamcast was 100$, and there were shops that sold burned games for 5$. unreal tournament took up a big part of the year i was there.

I agree with the Sony deal and the henry thing.  But they did pull support after about a year or two due to Sony dropping the PlayStation, it was a better machine.  I guess what i meant by game titles is they didn't have a "Mario" or Pokemon or Zelda game that had staying power.  Hell they are still kicking out versions of those games over 15 years later, they are still relevant. I suppose the closest they came was Sonic?

I always liked the Dreamcast, the mini games on the controller was pretty cool.

Meh, i dont know about the "ton of great games bit"  I can think of a handful that were good, Daytona USA was one of my favorites  but Grand Turismo was 10 times better.  Capcom Vs SNK was good but had not the best.

I guess that part is opinion, everybody likes different things

N64 was the pinnacle of gaming in my mind.  PS3 and Xbox360 don't have shit on classics like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario 64, etc.

N64 was a beast, and had some great games, but face it -- the joystick sucked and suffered from ED after one round of Mario Party, and if they used discs instead of cartridges, the Playstation wouldn't have gotten as big.

Master System wasn't as good as NES, Genesis was almost as good as SNES, Saturn was LOL, and Dreamcast was great but didn't have much support and was too advanced.

Thats what I'm fucking talking about.  Never played nightfire though.  But god damn golden eye was good.  Perfect Dark was tits because you could get the sims or whatever they called them in there, and they still had goldeneye levels and guns.  I could play that for hours.  I get sweaty palmed just thinking about it.  The joysticks did blow.  I have it in my mind to have a buddy machine some replacement aluminum parts with a nice urethane bushing and make it last forever.  One of these days...

do a google search about retrofitting gamecube joysticks into the n64 controller, way better quality i hear. and no erectile dysfunction, lol.

i didnt even play it that often and no one wanted to play me at mk2 after a few rounds it was just no fun, i had the timing down i guess.  i was pretty relentless with the beatings, no fun watching your self get rag dolled around bloody for 10 seconds at a time
