I'm a computer idiot and know that limewire has no place in any smart persons life. You figure that one out. Torrents iz teh wayz.

utorrent + torrents

My sister prefers Ares, which still uses the bittorrent network but is more familiar to users of kazaa/napster/whatever you kids are using these days.

Depends on your connection, how many seeders there are (people who are uploading and have the complete file), and leechers to a smaller degree (they have parts of it and are maybe uploading).

At the bottom of utorrent, you'll have either a yellow exclamation mark or a green checkmark.  You'll have the best speeds with the green.

To fix:

Open utorrent, options, preferences, connection, and write down the port number.

Go to your router page, linksys and most others just put 192.168.1.1 in the browser, some are 192.168.0.1.  If neither bring up a page, check your windows connection status, the gateway IP is the address.

Go to port forwarding, type utorrent as the application, port range is from [your port number] to [your port number], ip address would be your PCs (which can also be found in the windows connection status window), and for type of ports choose both (udp/tcp).

Save, apply, done.

For $50 I'll tell you how to get it front to back, anything you want. For $10, I'll tell you you're a moron.
