need help figuring out this boost creep issue......
« on: May 02, 2012, 12:05:12 AM »

So I've got the Holset hx35 on my lsv. Also have a cdm special wg. Same one I used on my crx, and it always had a little creep, but nothing more than 1-2 lbs. So I have a 12lb wg spring. It hits 3lbs @ 3k. And 12lbs by 4200. And at 6k I hit boost cut. Which I have set at 14lbs. So I pulled that wg spring out and put a 4lb spring in. Figured maybe I could see just how it would work out. So it hits 4lbs, and wg opens somewhere around 3500-4000 and slowly climbs to around 12lbs. And then just screams up to boost cut around 6000....

So I have no idea where to go from here. Do I need to upgrade to a bigger wg? I also have full 3" exhaust and no cat.

Here's a pic of the manifold too

Id say check the cdm wastegate for a bad diaphram or leaks in the line feeding it.  Also is it venting to the atmosphere or circulated back into the exhaust?

Does the WG recirc?  If so.. where does it tie into the exhaust?  I had mad creep because I tied my WG in at a bend, the exhaust from the DP was pushing up the WG pipe.

Has a new diaphragm, wg does not tie into exhaust, dumps under the oil pan, and I put a new boost signal line on too.

Diaphragm is tight. Not loose at all. With the 4lb spring in it I can push the valve up and down to exercise it and its nice and smooth.

The hat is tightened down and square to the body. Not loose at all. I'm thinking it might be because of my dump pipe on the wastegate. I'm gonna pull it off and take it out for a rip and see if it changes. If not then I don't know what else to do.

Fuck yeah! got it fixed. Put a different cdm wg on and perfect. Has a spring in it that holds between 8-10lbs all the way to redline. This mother fucker screams from 6-8k! 10lbs will turn u out! Time to put the dump tube on it, and finish up the catch can lines, put in some new plugs and rock!

Glad you got it figured out.  First thing I do anymore when I have issues like that is hook up air to the waste gate. You will almost always find out if the waste gate is shit or not.  Now when I get back I want a ride in that bitch  O0

Must go to the strip clubs there, there is like 6 or more there.

Stay away from Saturdays, unless you want 5 or more strippers all over you because you are the only white guy there.

You will have some pissed off guys who would stomp on ya outside b/c ya took all the action away from them.  :noel:

Centerfolds was a lot of fun last time I was there.

Shot Gun Willy's has the 24k pussy stripper syndrome, getting your money's worth.

The rest of the strip club have not yet been to.  :noel:

But I'm sure some local nogs can hook ya up.

Also Bandimere is open, http://www.bandimere.com/index.php check out some local 1/4 mile racing and they have go carts.  ;DDD

I got thrown out of La Boheme Denver in 2008 for taking liberties. Probably the nicest titty bar I've ever been thrown out of.

with no boost controller, wg line size is irrelevant. it only comes into play with boost controllers
