Crower Econorods
« on: May 21, 2012, 11:05:30 AM »

(Now called "Fast times rods" ::) ) Has anybody any info/feedback on them?
I'm about to buy some Eagles for my build (H22+hx40) and I've seen these for about the same price. Is there any difference between them besides the name?

I think it was the rod bolt that was different. BTW I have a set of new je 87.5mm pistons, pm me if interested.

Right, apparently the Crowers use ARP 7/16-inch bolts which would be a nice added strength. I'm inquiring now with the seller about rod bolt sizes on both.
For pistons, I already got Mahles though.

By the way as I was looking on BC's site I came across their overstock list, some good deals on pistons there  :noel:

Got the Econorods for less than 150 bucks, clearance discount—anyone's building an H22, here's a bargain:

The 7/16 head use the same 3/8 shank 2000 bolt as the newer Eagles. The older Eagles used the 5/16 shank 3/8 head 2000 bolts. I had them in the first motor.

As mentioned, the 7/16 is not the bolt diameter, its the head size for the bolt, Its  a 3/8 bolt in actuality. The same as the Eagles in my car currently. They dont make the older smaller size anymore.

GREAT DEAL. Id buy a set just to have, but if I build another H it will need Carillos or the like.  Personally I think ill need 8 rods insteaqd of 4 next time I build a motor though.

Check the overstock link at Brian Crower too, there's some rods for $200 and various CP pistons for 400

Or a whole running, tuned, set-up, complete in a car, that is PA inspected! :)
