If both parties got what they wanted, Rick with get his clean cut HMT and we will get our version of HMT(the real HMT).  I actually don't think that is far from what will happen in the end.  In all reality many useful possible members are put off by what went on the last 5 years on HMT.  They will probably be very into a cleaner version of what HMT is (turboing cars on a budget).  The only thing I feel is a shame is the HMT domain name Rick owns and the compiled information over the last 5-6 years Rick also has.  Other than that, it's not the biggest deal in the world.

Yeah, but something written 3-4 years ago by a member that has moved on might not make it in the transfer.  Transferring 5-6 years of posts on a forum like HMT is a logistical nightmare.  You simply won't get the information from one site to the other.  This means anytime someone does a google search they will be sent over to HMT rather than RHMT.  It means that the RHMT has a significantly smaller chance of growth into a solid internet car/turbo forum.  These are just the facts of life.

In order to encourage site development, we'd need to put serious technical information that would allow people to find the site via google/yahoo/msn/whatever.  This is just the facts of life.  I didn't end up on HMT in '03 because I got linked to a GD thread about how everyone hates Chris Harris or for jailbait pictures.  I found it looking for information about turboing a Honda.  If we post information about turboing and building shit, the site has a chance.  If we sit around on our ass and post in GD, the site won't grow.  These are just the facts of life.

If you want to help RHMT, start posting technical information and run a promotion giving deep discounts on your products.  I'm not in the market to buy a thing so I don't care if you do it or don't.  One thing I do know it is better to break even and continue to move merchandise while people forgive and forget your mistakes.  The other alternative is to lose business and possibly never weather the storm.  This is just my $.02.  I'm not always right, but I think I do offer valid advice every once in a blue moon.
