anyone run these horns?
« on: December 04, 2012, 01:43:09 AM »

im looking for some new horns for the GVR4 cuz its using only one working horn right now, and sounds like death. and the CRX made that noise for like 2 times, and has been MIA since.

im looking at these:

http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Hella-Supertone-Horn-Kit-Pair probably found cheaper, but thats the idea.

i have a prime spot to mount them in the GVR4 (right in the upper grill like every STI/WRX) but i dont know where i would mount them in the CRX.... oh, and i HATE red. so next question is...

has anyone that has had these taken them apart and painted them without any issues??

oh, and dont suggest air or train horns, thats just homo. i dont like flashy shit, and am gonna have hard enough time mounting these...

Get some pre-00 Caddy horns. They come in 4 notes, but even 2 sound great and are loud as fuck. They're also cheap.

As for the hella horns, the guy who's running the e-cutout I made has them, Charlie Maou. They're loud but not like "whoa, wtf?" like Caddy horns can be.

I laughed the first time I saw a wrx with flashy horns. That's kinda like "check out my sweet defroster I just got" huh? Lol

thats why i will be painting them black.

not really looking for super loud, just want to get the point across that i hit my horn, and dont want it to sound homo when i do.

1:00 is what the typical 90's horn set sounds like. I love it, despite my mom blairing it EVERY time she came home with groceries for me to carry inside.

i have the air horns from harbor freight, I love them cause they sound like the roach coach.

I think my dad has a set of the caddy ones on his 85 chevy pickup.
like the second ones in that video
