80% AR kits?
« on: December 24, 2013, 10:04:42 PM »

I'm thinking about getting a 80% AR lower and a kit for the rest of the parts.  I'm seeing a shitload of different companies and kits out there.  Anyone ever bought one of these kits?

Certain items are getting scarce again. While others like basic "mil spec" lower parts kits are the lowest I have seen them in two years. Lots of companies offer 80s now, some billet 7075, some 6061, some forgings, and some come hard coated. Last one I did was a forged hard coated lower, coating was pretty shitty. Personally I would by a billet uncoated lower, finish it and then cerakote or go  O0 and rattle can it.
