F22B fuel rail on K series PRB IM
« on: December 29, 2013, 04:21:50 PM »

Pretty much the same deal as with the B series TB... it basically works out of the box.

Injector spacing is the same.  All you need to do is redrill and flip it backwards.

F22B fuel rail.  Wow, so you bought a K series and need a fuel rail?  This is your $10 answer.

Here it is mocked up, no drilling anything, on "stock" injectors (shares the same dimensions as OEM)

I knew when I saw that awesome fitup this was going to be easy.  Kinda right, Kinda wrong. You will see why.

Here you can see where the studs are. So I etched them with a scribe and started drilling.  First a pilot hole with 1/8th bit then 11/32nds again.

Drilled.

You want to go a little closer to the outside edge than I did.  That way you can use a regular ol Honda 12mm nut and it'll clearance the rest of the rail and align it better than drilling further in like I did.  I ended up ovalling them out.

Next you take the two TB studs out of the IM, and then install them where the original fuel rail studs were.  You need the extra length.

Then take a regular ol hex nut, and thread it down to the bottom of the threads.  This provides a land for the rail to rest on.

Square the faces of the nuts so they will clear the fuel rail when you drop it on.

Boom.  You might notice the rail is flipped upside down.  Haha!

Here, you can see, direct fit, 4x Hiprofile 800cc injectors drop right in!! Perfect fit!!!

My only concern is how high it will protrude??  But we will see.  It shouldnt be higher than the valve cover.

Any F22B with the extruded fuel rail.  It just has to be the extruded fuel rail.  I think this one came from a 95 Accord.

F22Bx from a 95+ Accord. The F23 fuel rail will work as well, but the FPR is on the other side of the rail & the banjo inlet is on the top 4" from the passenger side.

Ivan93 just posted some pics on H-T and I noticed he has a JDM H23A VTEC style fuel rail. It's the same shape as the F22B/F23 rail, except it has the inlet on the driver's side. Since I didn't toss out mine from the H23A, I don't have to wait on pulling my F22B2 for a fuel rail. :)

Did any USDM engines come with that fuel rail?  I wouldnt mind having it on the opposite side.

Sorry, I typed that wrong. It has the fuel inlet on the same side as the F22B fuel rails, but on the top of the rail. It's only on the JDM H23A & Euro-R, my guess is the "Accord engineering team" wanted to use their extruded Accord rails instead of the typical cast H22 Prelude rails.

The closest you'll get to a different inlet location is an F23A fuel rail, which has the inlet on the top about 4" from the where the F22B inlet is.

H23A/Euro-R rail:
