So looking or opinions and experience on this
Finally got the bottom end built up pretty good on my lsv and am taking it from dd to more of a weekend strip kinda car. I want to turn this think up on kill for this summer for some competition's this summer (honda day) and local outlaw street stuff at the track.

Current built

81mm lsv wiseco of 10:1 Pistons eagle rods
Ring gap opened up to strip per  wiseco suggestion
Holset hx40 8 blade turbo with 16 cm t3 housing
First gen skunk2 intake manifold
Injector nation 900cc injectors 3 bar map sensor
Ported and polished gsr head with stock valves and springs ect.
Car duyno'ed at 429 whp last year when I tuned it at 16-17 psi
Over summer I have turned it up to 22 psi but have not dyno tuned it yet.

I want to make around 600 whp on race gas I figure should be close around 28-30 psi
Do you guys think the stock valvetrain can handle that much boost or will I start floating valves
Chime in if you think power goals are possible on this setup also.

How far do you think I can push the stock springs?

honestly I put them in everything. I think I have run a couple with stock springs at 10psi and >300hp. and really even NA motors I would install aftermarket springs or at least OEM double spring them.

put springs in, cheap and easy.


BTW. I have valve spring tool I'll sell ya. lol.

wait. I just re-read that. must have missed you are already at 430hp 17psi on stock springs?! now your at 22? how high are you revving it? you having any misfires at top end? I figured you would have floated with OEM springs a while ago. lot of airflow coming threw the motor pushing down on the springs...

I ran 26ish psi from a hx35 on a stock type r head and never had any problems.

wait. I just re-read that. must have missed you are already at 430hp 17psi on stock springs?! now your at 22? how high are you revving it? you having any misfires at top end? I figured you would have floated with OEM springs a while ago. lot of airflow coming threw the motor pushing down on the springs...

I turn it to 8600 and no miss firing problems aside from the ignition issues I just cleared up. Had a weak coil and wires now I am running msd sci,sc coil,and 8mm wires.

Honestly I have strayed away from just doing springs. Made mistake of just getting springs on my brother in-laws build and it snapped the head off a valve at 9500 and destroyed motor completely after 1500 miles.

put springs in, cheap and easy.

I do however have a extra set of inner springs. Wasn't sure if it would be hard on valve train running set from exhaust on intake ..I just haven't done it personally

How so? They're just springs. If they have a higher rate, don't bind, and fit - there shouldn't be issues. ITR springs are cheap, not a bad idea. Chances are a used set will be newer, too.
