finally, an email forward that was worth something
« on: May 18, 2009, 04:56:54 PM »

FYI...

REMEMBER:  Cell Phone Numbers Go Public next month.

REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.......... YOU WILL  BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
Even if the message is saved on your phone, you will be charged for the
minutes to listen to it.

To prevent this, call the following  number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222 .
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time. It blocks your number for five (5) years.  You  must call from the
cell phone number you want to have blocked.  You cannot call from a
different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20
seconds.

he Federal Trade Commission does allow cell phone users to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry (the same one already in force for landlines), either online or by calling 1-888-382-1222. Doing so probably isn't necessary, mind you — per FCC regulations, telemarketers are already prohibited from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers

So go for it, might want to check out Zombie and dinosaur insurance too.  Never know

So I wasted 30 seconds of my life dialing a number and pressing a few buttons, I've wasted more time staring at the bathroom wall and doing other non-productive things today.

I don't know if you're talking about taking a shit or jacking off, but they are BOTH productive.

Very interesting - I've recently received 2 calls on my cell about that stupid car warranty bullshit. I'd love to get their asses slapped with an FCC fine, so I actually hope they call again...

FCC actually just recently bitch-slapped them.

I've been spammed on my cell.  I just save them under the "SPAM" contact that automatically sends to voicemail.
