It looks to be a Mercedes diesel turbo thats a 42/48 45 trim.

ok pimp, its off an old vw diesel, but i do know is the same turbo that came on the Mercedes 300D, just wasent sure on the size, thanx nogs

Vw diesel does not have the same as the merc, the merc was a 42/48, the vw one is a 36/42?? I have one in the garage, can't remember the exact size. The easy way to tell if it was a vw is the flange. Vw used a trapezoidal flange vs the normal rectangular one.

not on the MKI 1.6, they used a regular flanged T3, it looks exactly the same as the one off the merc, except that its badged with the vw/audi symbols, and may be a little bit different size, thats what i'm trying to figure out,

Yes even on the MKI 1.6TD's. The later 1.9idi's used a t25 based turbo, with a rectangular flange, but all 1.6's used a trapezoidal flange. It still may be from a turbo gasser audi though.

digi-1 happened, once i go cross-flow the MS-2 box will probly go in, and if vw people weren't lazy and i could actually find the maps for the setup i would get a guy i know to burn me a chip, but only like 3 companys have bothered to break the code down and none of them want to part with it from what i hear
