Luke is not normal folks.

81mm is standard sleeved D16 limit, even NA will be prone to have headgasket issues.  79mm FTW!

Also, 84mm + 90mm stroke = 2.0x liters.

Turbo use and need high over lap cams the stock cams do not have high over lap. There for upgrading you cams and valve train will also net you more power. (note you are not upgrading to increase your redline you are doing it for over lap)


Isnt this the opposite? i thought overlap on the cams is bad. its reply 13 the guy seems to know all  :mexi:

Not always.  Plenty of stock cam GSR's making more power with very little overlap compared to a "turbo cam"  RPM and VE are the key factors here.

Blowers blow out boost.  A properly set up turbo engine has an IM vs EM pressure ratio similar to a NA car, and they like NA cams insomuch as the turbo/increased airmass amplifies the cam's characteristics.  Too large of a set of NA cams pushes the powerband up too high to use properly.
