I'm moving from a military combat boot to a real deal work boot for my daily work boot. I am looking at some timberland "pro" work boots. I have had other boots, as I pretty much wear boots all of the time, and timberland boots seem to fit my foot pretty nice. I have never had timberland "work" boots, always had trail type boots.

Basically, I have no reason not to buy these, ive always been happy with timberland trail boots. I am looking for someone to talk shit about them.

When it comes to work boots my all time favorite would have to be redbacks. Ive got three pairs of their slip-ons. I prefer the slip on for the simple fact that they are easy to get on and off and you dont have to worry about burning your laces if you drop a piece of slag on them... Id look into them.. yeah they are a lil pricey but ive have gotten 4 years and counting out of my steel toes and over five each on my daily non work boots.. I wouldnt have anything else... Just another option to look into...

Timberland Pro's have outlasted boots that cost twice as much. My only pair lasted six years, everything else 6-9 months. Bottom line you're stupid if you buy another brand. Also, Timberlands get you bonus cool points with our Nubian brothers. Win-win situation, Mr. Pants.

I rock timberland boots as well, mine are the chemical resistant welding boots with the kevlar lace guard. They are top notch.

i had some redwings for a while, they were cool. currently i have some worx boots, that are on their way out. id go for the redwings again but not the worx.

i got a set of carhearts from work this past year just to try, wasn't impressed at all. wore out with minimal effort and wern't the comfiest. dont' know about your brand tho

I'm cheap I go to Payless Shoes and get the Stanley (as in the tools) boots put some Dr. Scholes work boot insoles ever 2-3 months.

Where these until I break these down, usually 2 years.

But now that I work in a foundry worry about stepping on molten brass these boots last me about 1yr.

I didn't like them at first, they didn't seem as comfortable after a day as I though they would be.

After they broke in they got a lot better. They key is to wear a good pair of socks, preferably Smartwool. Best socks ever.

I don't wear boots much more, because I work in engineering at a medical device manufacturer, no steel toe needed.

timberland pro series are junk. dude take it from someone who kills a new pair of boots in 2 months. i used to wear the pro series and id rip a pair to shreds every 2 months not even.

then i smartened up and for 30 dollars more bougt some redwings. te first pair lasted me a year. and the second pair im on now are 7 months strong and the steel toe isnt even exposed.

timberlands arent waterproofed for shit either. te redwings ive never been wet as long as te water doestn go over the top of them

I have a pair of redwings, I wish i woud have started buying them back when i waited tables. They're about year and a half old, and still more comfy than any pair of tennis shoes i've ever owned, my feet don't ever hurt at the end of the day, if the price doubled i'd still buy them.

josh, you are also the only one on this site to demolish cam caps on a LS motor. Ive had RW boots, they sucked. my feet hurt, they never stayed tied, the soles wore fast as shit and they were expensive. $:-\$ I am still rocking a pair of timbs I bought in '05 as a boot I wear every once in a while.

i had a pair of the timberland pro's. i liked them at first but as time passed the ball of my foot began to get eat up by the steel toe. but then again i have skateboarders feet so my feet are pretty wide. it got to the point that i could not run or stop fast in the timberlands.

then i got a pair of redwings new wide toe steel toes and love them. i need some insoles but tey would last a whole week on the cement i stand on all day.

im just used to a nice comfortable pair of DC's.

where can i get some redbacks from. i like them

dude I bet I tear up boost just as fast as you Hotrex, I was an industrial mechanic before, working on pumps in water/grease/sewage whatever. My boots have to be steel toed metatarsel, I now operate a supersucker vac truck at AK steel in butler, and If you've ever seen plant clean man come out after working, you'll admit that they're boots get it bad. Clotches not so much because I wear uniforms, but I used to rip them, tear them, burn holes in them alot. I wear Carolina's, I've had leighighs, and Wolverines, but I prefer carolinas or redwings.
