Alright, trying to work out a few little problems I've been having. I have a tial 38mm with a big red spring with a small red spring, so technically it should open at 15psi.. well the turbo spools at 4500 and builds 10psi around 5500, and holds steady until REV LIMIT. What would cause the gate to open so early at full throttle??

I've checked for exhaust leaks and re-clamped all of my couplers, and checked the intake manifold for any leaks.. any ideas??

aside from the incoherent babbling, none of that thread was useful. I'm going to try a ching chong gate later today to see if that changes anything

Of the Synapse gates ive seen, all have had problems.  Not because "oh you got the wrong ports hooked up" no, I dont think they were designed for anything that resembles power. Metal to metal contact in something that consistantly sees 800+ degrees just doesnt sound like a great idea to me.  Of the Synapse Bov's ive seen, half have had problems.  Still an inferior piece to the 1g bov.  There's a reason the GTR uses the 1g valve. 

I dont understand the "oh it has no diaphram so its more reliable" bit.  They still have a seal that can fail (and have) so whats the point?  The only bov's I have seen that have consistantly unreliable diaphrams are the cheap plastic bosch bovs (which I run on my 951 btw).

Try putting a MBC inline to see if you can raise boost and if it'll help it open later. Or set a boost cut and unhook and plug the vacuum line to the WG, but leave the port open, be very careful to let off gas asap as it builds more than 10psi. If it doesn't then your spring can't hole the exhaust pressure.

This is with the holset and the OEM top mount?
What are both springs rated at? Do you have stiffer spring to test with?

There was not alot. Just some. And I took that piece of junk and sold it to a diamond star user. Worked for him. Blundell tried to figure it out. Even Dennis. Just its junk all around. Blow off is a must have for me. I love it. And Peters customer service is top notch. But his gate is far from being as good as a ching chong. Just trash it and forget trying to get it to work.

That he did. The Synapse is a good idea just came out before it's time. Pretty bad when Ching Chong units work far better than that piece of failure.

Seriously though, its probably the intercooler's pressure drop, slight exhaust backpressure, and in general 2 springs that aren't CALIBRATED to 15psi. They're mass-produced, so any argument for consistency (between all the springs) kinda goes out the window. If you checked the pressure that builds in the WG line (pre-intercooler), it's probably 12-15psi. Its the exact same theory behind a partially-open TB reducing the pressure - restriction.

If it holds consistant pressure to redline, just get a decent MBC/EBC and be happy. Or hook it up to the manifold and get what you wanted.
