My d16 build
« on: March 10, 2009, 01:15:39 PM »

So heres the story, turbo'd my d15b7, ended up breaking cyl 1 rod right in half with a boost spike of 14lbs, got another d15, drop that in my del sol and something took a shit, oil pump, blockage Idk, it wasnt pushing any fluid according to my oil pressure gauge, decided fuck it, Im tired of messing around with these 200k+ motors and Im just gonna start fresh. Grabbed up a d16y7 that was rebuild less than 20k miles ago, which looks pretty honest, clean bearing, clean pretty much everything, hell the walls were still honed, anyway, I decided to just build it regardless.
Just some regular vitara's

Block nice and fresh

You can see where I put tape of the letters and left to much tape on it, oh well

VC all painted up, just plan on using the stock y7 head for now

and just my mess of parts that I got going on

more pics to ensue once I get my rods and gaskets in from FJT

are you doing d16 w/ automatic tranny?

Or was that torque converter came off the engine you are rebuilding?

why would you not run it, it makes no sense. If there is a water cooled section it was designed to be run with it for cooling. Pretty sure garrett knows better then some fat guy in a accord. nbspnbsp :P

haha I knew someone would say something bout the trq converter, no, it'll be a SI tranny on this, it came off this motor, the automatic that is. Anywho, I'll get more pics once more parts come in, I got a question, should the wrist pins be hard to get into the pistons?

Pm me if you want it!  You can have it, providing you use it for your thread and don't sell it for crack.
