everyone loves fluxcore

today i worked on the y-pipe as i stated in another thread as torch-cut flanges and 2.25" a mix of mild and ss pipe (got the ss 2 bucks for 3 ft sticks at a yard sale)

haggard dual 2.25" to single 3" with a 3-bolt flange

flanges came out nice

all welded up!

I picked up an HX-35 for a case of beer. What you describe for a motor sounds just like a 12v cummins, but gasoline powered, and a touch more displacement. Any of the holset's used on dodge trucks will work fine for that setup, try to stay to the bigger of the exhaust sides though. You can pick up an HE351VE for like $80 on ebay, just set the vanes wide open, use an external gate and good to go. If you want it to spool a bit quicker adjust the vanes in some. If you want to get fancy, put a wastegate actuator on them so they start to open at say 5psi and are right open at 10psi. You will still have to use an external gate to control over all boost though.

it's a large application motor (bus/dumptruck) so it's got loads of longevity designed into it.  people can do 10lbs no problem on stockblock the heads just flow like 110cfm (lol) and i need a quick spooling yet large AR turbo to fit the exhaust output.  4-7psi is a baseline goal once i see if this carb takes boost

i have the perfect turbo for perfect price. pay shipping and its yours or im gonna toss it.

nice truck.  My friend has one like that he beats like a $2 hooker in the mud.  Your's is in about 4K times better shape than his though.  those IH V8s are some serious hunks of iron, and built right, you cant kill em.

Check my rig out... I have it on the old HMT, but, here is another link:

http://www.g741.org/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?t=1962

now I've got the oldest rig on RHMT... :noel:
