WHICH PLUGS FOR 488whp H22
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:14:45 AM »

I need help here plugs look fine. Better than the last of couse when it blew up from a injector failure. But Dave gave me the first choise as a option. BUT HYUNDATA from my research does not like resistor-less plugs. YOSPEH BEAVUS have you ran these plugs with S300 or am I just reading  H-T hype. I remember SPIKER having issues but Dave really really suggests the OPTION 1 gapped tight. But I'm heading back over to him. COLD air across the cooler allows me to hit boost cut. But besides that he wants to clean up my street epa and the reaction from tip throttle-mid throttle-full throttle parts. And a hour or two on the dyna-pak to play with the gears since he has now again seen the 6th combo of  pro ones reaction to different settings. But I need to buy new gears since he"DAVE MY NIG" stripped out one bolt and I'm a SKANKer need the pro gears. Foolish I know but its only cash. And I'm single and not drinking as much as well quite frankly less dooney and burke purses being bought ALOT LESS lol's

Ditch the Hyundaidata failure, or run BRKxEIX iridiums at $9/plug.

iridiums are the only resistor plugs NGK makes past a 7 heat range. those are the onyl plugs that will work with hyundaidata.

um hello...

I know... I had the exact problem and people told me i was full of shit (including here).  However there are other resistor options in an 8... Personally id ditch the faildata, fuck that shit. Im running non resistor plugs with ectune with no issues at all, And I had allll kinds of trouble with them before on crome pro. Ive seen that dynos dont like the non resistors too before on my car and a couple others, regardless of the ems

either way at under 500 hp he doesnt need 8s.

7s are fine and 6 bucks a plug cheaper.

If your on pump gas, I'd start with a bkr7e,  ngk# 4644, from what i've seen they are normally the correct choice to about 500hp. (Yes spiker and i agree on something :o)

You should just do it the right way and read the plugs and let the engine decide what heat range it wants, instead of just throwing some in there.

If you do need a colder plug than that, spend the cash and get the iridiums with the hondata.

I run the 8's right out of the gate.  Two reasons for that: everyone always presses knock limit, and the thin air at my elevation means there's a bigger pumping loss (and therefore more heating of the air).

edit: also, NGKs claim to be good not only for the rated heatrange, but the heatrange on either side.  Plus, I'm very conservative about some things + a spark plug is the ultimate heat riser in the combustion chamber.  Call me a scaredy cat.
