Tuning/Car shows from the US
« on: August 10, 2009, 07:13:31 PM »

OK, due to an epic fail on the UK/Euro TV scene, we have nothing worth watching car wise.

We get the usual American Hotrod, American Chopper, Biker Build off, Overhaullin etc, but what else is worth watching? I've seen the Speed channel, but no one carries it over here so it's all torrents and downloads :(

Question is, what else is worth searching for? I've caught bits of Two Guys Garage, but rarely see any torrents out there for it.

Top Gear is OK (and Clarkson lives near my family), but it's just cocking about with cars. I wanna see people build shit. Problem is, there's just nothing like it over here.

Oh, and I'm a broke ass bitch (as you'd say) so never get to build my own shit. always seem to be making it for other people. Guess I coud always start up my own channel on basic cable  :noel:

Yeah, but gone are the days when I could fall asleep under the car, or pull an all nighter, grab a quick shower then get dressed and go to work before coming home to do it all again.

Children, wife, mortgage and office job combined with 3am feeds and changes means the closest I get to building anything these days is Lego with the kids, so I just watch shit on TV.

Hot damn, mid life crisis before I'm 30. Fuck. Best go out and buy something old and fast :)

You sit in front of the TV all day?  Great role model for your kids.

An hour in your garage is too much a day uh. You wanted back in so you could talk about lack of television programming

I wish. It's 4.20am and I'm still up. My kids get a set amount of time per week. if I wanna stay up until the small hours, that's my business.

Truth be told, half the time I can't be bothered to go play with cars after I get in from work. It gets saved for the weekends.Mind, number 2 son is now showing interest in cars, so I guess I have that to look forward to. Won't belong before it's dirty thirds with a D on 16 pounds while he films :)

Check out some torrents for some racing.  That's what I do when I get bored.  This year's MOTO GP Spanish GP was the best race I've seen, 2 or 4 wheels.  Definate must see.  Get back to me 2 hours from now after it's downloaded and viewed.

Actually I just watch an episode from season 13  from there. When you log in there they make read a long wall of text that basically ask if you are affiliated with BBC.
Just hit "NO" and watch vids like normal.

Wrong Dave.

Do I gather I share an unfortunate forum name with someone else then? Can't even go back to OHMT as I got hit with the ban hammer.

FWIW, I'm a non nig, non Henry guy from the UK...

Id rather watch cooking shows (Giada Delaurentis...yum) than watch any of the crap "we build this in our garage in 30 min" shows, I find myself yelling at the retards on the TV for doing some mind-numbingly stupid thing that a real tech/mechanic wouldnt do in a million years.

In short, any show on TV that doesnt involve racing or food, is a form of failure.
