Johnny, I'm starting a political thread! Get your ass in here!
« on: September 12, 2009, 07:07:26 PM »

A very simple Obama approval poll:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

They take the % that strongly approve of Obama and subtract it from the % that strongly dissapprove of Obama on a "daily" basis.

Interesting.

8 Months and he has lost 20%, by the 2012 election, he will have only Johnnys vote to stand on for sure.

After the total destruction of our free market economy, Johnny will be forced to accept Welfare and will learn to enjoy a governent handout.  With a gun to his head of course

on 9-12 roughly 60-70 thousand people made the trip to DC to voice their opinion to Mr Obama
(60-70k people is what ABC reports)

What is the deal with the tea party express?  I assume they are pissed off at the govt? or Obama personally?  And is it pertaining to one or two particular things or basically everything?

Too bad people see him as to extreme. Crazy old man in the eyes of majority of voters

Regardless I said it when he got elected and Ill say it for the next 3 years Obama is a one term president. Things will only get worse. Looking back last year this time looked great compared to today in every aspect. Reality is sinking in that 11th grade pep rally speeches dont solve problems.

And having a good Jump Shot gets you nowhere in the real world.

I believe if anything good comes from this mess, it will be closer race relations in America.  But it is one thing  Mr. Obama and his Democrats work against.  Fortunately for America People are Uniting, regardless of race or financial stature.

Yep.

Congress controls the money spent, not the president.

Until a line item veto law is passed.

Man if this lasts three more years the money will be spent and the damage will be done we'll all have to pay for it for about 50 years. basically every tax payer in america will have an extra home loan added into our taxes.
I watched today in washington the whole time this stimulus package was being passed in horror I was waiting for someone to step in and say nono boys this is crazy but it didn't happen
The only people speaking out against it all were a congressman from oklahoma who at the tome realy impressed me with his grasp of the situation but he was being heckled the whole time by a bunch of democrats who were all elected in by a bunch of black people who only knew they were voting for a black guy. Then their was a senator from my own state of KY Jim Bunning who I was just shocked at how smart and well spoken he was I actually agreed with everything he was saying and he was from my state I never thought much of ky politics at all but he was spot on imo.
I mean in three years if we actually get to vote for a good president and get a decent congress will they be able to undo this mess.
I think in the long run Obama is actually hurting black people because who's gonna vote for another one after this.

Here's the thing about a majority vote, the majority of people voice their opinion on who should run our country. Obama won and the democrats have majority ruling, if he does shitty as well as the rest of his party during this term, then no one will vote him in again, if he does well then the opposite will occur. When we went into Afghanistan and the press had continually asked Dick Cheney about his feelings on it he simply replied with "So what?" For me that put things into a different perspective, the majority voted him in, if we don't like it then wait until the next election and vote for someone else.

Its not that i don't care about the country or politics, it simply isn't something i need to worry about until the next election comes around. Until then, worrying about every little detail that is feed to us through the narrow media pipeline simply is not productive in any way and doesn't give any of us enough information to be experts when something controversial occurs, nor would any of our opinions mean anything until the next election takes place. But go ahead and say impeachment or any corrective action for the matter, but we had the same outlier groups occur during the last presidency, so who is to say that its not the other party's term to trash their opponent.

But Johnny and others, feel free to bitch about politics and use it as a vehicle to displace other frustrations in life, or you could get a gym membership. Either way you can decide what is a more useful investment of your time.

How does the electoral college figure into your worldview?

Yeah the Electoral College actually decides the election there have been a few times when the presidency was decided by the Electoral College or in a case where it's still even the decision goes to the house for a vote. Our elections are usually close and only won by a few percent but it really doesn't matter because you could get the popular vote in a state and then that state’s electoral votes for the other guy. There is no freaking law against that.
The founding fathers came up with the electoral college for good reason back then after fighting the revolutionary war they needed to make sure some British loyalist guy didn’t get voted in and end up having King George running the country because his boy was voted in and then being England’s figure head or stalking horse.
Bottom line is that we don't elect our presidents. The nobles do.

I say we all go over to Johnny’s house and stock up on ammo and then do an organized revolution where we don't destroy the infrastructure of the country or the government we just remove a few key people and change a few laws and then hand it back.

I think Johnny's son is teething; he's probably pulling dad-duty, or running chilled carrots to momunit when he's not.

drudge is reporting two million people were at the protest in d.c.

That can't be true.

only about 1 million people showed up for obama's inauguration.

I do agreed though that leftist media bullshit downplayed it hardcore. How come we didn't really hear about the protests on cnn, msnbc, abc, or nbc? If it were some other bullshit protest the left supported, it would be plastered all over the news.
