removing iacv questions
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:48:14 PM »

First the car is not a DD I dont drive it at all in the winter and probably less than 2000 miles a year. I want to disable the IACV, I believe I can just unplug it and disable it in crome so that takes care of the cel but...

I am using an aftermarket 65mm TB and skank2 IM, Do I just adjust the throttle plate stop screw until it idles at a decent rpm? If I do this will I have problems with idle or stalling as I let off like coming into intersections or what not? Anything else I should be thinking about when doing this?

disable iav in crome then open throttle plate via the idle screw. the kid i did this for was stuck with a 1200 rpm has no problem since ive tuned him but startup is kinda shitty but always starts.

Yeah but the with the TB I have, the IACV hole doesnt go all the way through, I really dont feel like taking a drill bit to my TB.

It'll take you less than minute to drill that hole

why do people want to do more work to make something work rather than just fix it the right way?

The Throttle body doesnt have an idle adjustment screw either so I figured I'd have to adjust that stop screw anyway.
