What your confused about is thinking 5.9's are better.  The 3.9's are the old 5.9's... the later half of the new 5.9's are made out of chinese shit metal, which is why Frank replaced them with a completely new family to get away from that stigma.  $850 is a lot to pay for a titanium intermediate shaft, IMO.
