The deck height is too low to be anything but a 302 variant. Probably a pre-86 motor with the old-style head casting and old firing order.

10 bolt rears suck cock, this is well known.  But, how much does this car weigh?  I highly doubt it tips the scales anywhere close to an F-body short of a striped drag car.

Looks like the guy probably just had this stuff laying around, otherwise he probably would have used the widely available ford 8.8 as previously mentioned.

87-95 roller block with a carb conversion if I had to put my two cents in. Aluminum valve covers and not stamped steel.

touche, but if the above is true about shit that was laying around, then it is more than likely a 7.5. the part about weight is def. a factor, but if it were me, id run it till it broke, then would find a decent replacement.
