this stuff is tasty and easy to make.. can be a dessert or a meal...
you can add honey or syrup to the dough and make it sweet..
works great as a base for pastries too.. it also makes for a bad ass ice cream sandwich.. or roll.. or w/e its called... or load it up with cream and nuts and make cannollis.. (just have to make them thicker) it really is a versatile and limitless food..
chapati flour! get it at any indian grocery...
easiest prep evar! just add water/salt to taste..
add vegetable ghee or melted butter..
mash it with your hands..
done!
roll into balls..
vegetable ghee on plate.. (or butter)
drop a ball..
flatten it out., and add a dab of vegtable ghee...
drop another ball (i love balls)
flatten it out
flip.. and flatten you can use a roller.. but i like mine thicker.. and i also like the trapped air pockets..
ready to toss on griddle/wok pan
i prefer wok pans/tfal frying pans.. griddle will make them dry...
pick it up
toss it in! i sucked cause i did it with one hand...
your only supposed to flip them once and be done..
but i like flipping mine 4x
money shot!
had it with some homemade pickled lemons.. (normally i like them with pickled green tomatoes)
yes i burned them because i was trying to take pictures.. just like the breaded steaks.. you have to work fast.. they only need like 10 seconds per side.. i work with a almost smoking HOT wok pan..
then finished up by eating some with honey..
as stated before you can eat them with almost anything.. it sounds nasty but you can even shred em up and add warm milk/sugar for a home made cereal..
table cream and sugar..
they make bad ass burritos.. and soft tacos..
also great for chicken sandwiches.. and last bot not least they make great pizzas
ill add my canolli recipe later if i feel like it..
it really is sacrilege to any canolli fans.. but whatever. imo they taste just as good as if not better than traditional canollis
