when i took my turbo out i didnt really notice oil leaking from the oil lines. its possible but i think i would've seen oil cooked on the turbo. however i think this center section here is or was leaking.
if you would take a look at my cdm turbo and tell me if you think that this center section is tightened down enough just
from looking at it. thats pretty much how tight it was when i pulled it out.
if you see the gap in the pic. i tightened it down and completely closed that gap.
it didnt seem to want to go easily but i forced it. haha.

can oil come from that center section or is it coming from my oil line connections.

If your turbo is working properly, oil should not come from that band style center section.  Check your fittings.

I had oil in my intercooler piping back when i had my crx turbo i'm pretty sure it was due to not having my pcv system set up properly. The pressure created by the turbo will push the oil out of any seal it can (usually the turbo) which is why you need to either get a catch can to catch the oil & blow by or vent it into the air (not a good idea  ). What do you have setup as far as your pcv system? may be your issue as far as oil in your cooler piping. Good luck

all i have for a catch can is a hose going into a water bottle from the valve cover.

i dont quite understand the engineering behind a catch can. like why some people have
3 hoses on one catch can.

Ideally, you should have a box to vent to, not a can.  The can might catch the oil residue from the engine, but really we want to move the air out from underneath the pistons.  2 pistons go down, then you should need at least that volume removed from the crankcase.  There is power to be had here, but people usually look at me funny when I try to explain to them the lengths Porsche goes to in their engines to remove the air from beneath the pistons.

maybe somebody has a drawing of how it works. thats how i learn the best.

i kind of get what your saying. i never thought of the other two pistons that were just moving with
no combustion.
