is anyone on rhmt an actuall ffl holder? doesnt that give the goverment the authority to do a search of your property if they wanted. cant remember if it was that or the license to own fully autos in the few states that you're allowed. basically not something im interested in sense paying the extra 20-30$ for them to do it isnt bad compared to getting the ffl.
we had our gun show last weekend here and prices on guns definitly still high around here. found a few decent things. but mainly loaded up on some bear/pig killing rounds for my 44 mag.

fll can search your business and records, if you run it from you house...

paying the tax to own a full auto in states where you masters allow it doesn't mean they can search you house at any time

thanks for the clear up. its been awhile sense i did my homework on the two. basically if you have a fll for personall use you would be allowing the goverment to do a search on your home and records unless you had a seperate place of buisness. not saying that it would happen but why risk it if you dont have to.

I've looked into at least getting a C&R FFL.  It's $30 for three years or someshit, and would make life easier.

its supposibly real easy to get and would make life easier but is it worth it to give up your right of privacy?

Don't really have anything to hide yet.  And would def. make shipping certain guns around a lot easier on me, and cheaper

Looks like a good deal. I'd hate to have to worry about stocking up a different caliber ammo, though. I think the ak, pistol grip pump (on my lap at all times), and Walther pps have me covered.

meh AR's are boring rifles anyway.  Accurate though, but direct impingement system is as smart as widebody and his blue dash

Think I may scoop one up 2 paychecks from now.  If anything, I can probably sell it for what I have in it

ive never shot one before but was looking at those colt and S&W 22LR style ar look a likes the other day at the gun store. think it would be pretty fun to shoot and alot cheaper to buy 22lr ammo. but then started thinking if i was gonna get a 22 i might as well get the 10/22. its alot cheaper and is like a honda when it comes to aftermarket shit for them.

Please do not buy the Colt .22 AR's.  If you are going to do something like that, get a real AR and just get the conversion kit.  The .22's are terribly made.

For a fun .22, I'd either roll with a 10/22 or a GSG5 (MP5 Lookalike).  The 10/22 is the most fun though, because it is cheap as shit.  I don't think you can get GSG5 mags easily right now.

They run roughly $500, and are pretty solid to shoot.  The only issue, like I said, is extra magazine availability.  I'm sure you could rhmt a few .22 mags to fit though.  And that may have changed since I last was thinking about one as a range toy.  Hard to beat a 10/22 for parts availability though.  You can do everything from a cheap stock can plinker, to a nice match grade rifle with it.  And it kills a lot of things that need killing, like cats, snakes, groundhogs, gophers, etc.

Thread jack.

Im wondering is it illegal to purchase a gun in say Georgia and bring it back to NC? Ie. carry it across state lines?  Headed to ATL in a few weeks and firearms are significantly cheaper there (wonder why...) and might pick one up.

Depends.  Are you buying the gun Face to face from a private individual, or from a dealer?  PM me if you answer yes to the first :)

Shouldn't have any issues again.  Different things come into play from private individuals

Unless it's different in states other than the communist wealth of VA, sales between private folks outside of gun shows have to be between two people living in that state.  It's why most bill of sale paperwork has a spot for DL#.  Just not smart to get caught doing.  Happens a lot, but if it is going between residents of two different states, it legally has to go through an FFL holder

ya it was at a gun show in another state. no paperwork or anything because it was from just one of the private sellers with a booth. i wouldnt buy it from some joe from another state unless it was real cheap and didnt plan on it leaving my house.

Incidentally, since I brought up the GSG5 in this thread....

For immediate release,

We are very pleased to report that the litigation filed by Heckler & Koch, Inc. against German Sport Guns GmbH and its U.S. distributor, American Tactical Imports, Inc., together with all counterclaims, has been settled.

The terms of the settlement are confidential to the parties and cannot be disclosed. A dismissal of the above-referenced litigation, and all of the party’s claims against each other, is expected to be filed in the near future.

Attorneys for H&K will be issuing a statement. The attorneys for ATI have already issued a statement announcing the settlement.

Production and importation of the original design GSG-5 ceased as of Oct, 8, 2009 with the signing of the agreement. The remaining inventory now in the USA can be sold by ATI, all distributors and dealers. ATI currently has GSG-5’s in stock.

All sales of the GSG-5 by ATI must conclude by January 31, 2010. ATI will continue to service every firearm that it imports into the USA.

Thank you for your support.
Anthony DiChario
President C.E.O.
American Tactical Imports, Inc

:( :( :( Might have to buy one now
