DSM 450's
« on: October 19, 2009, 07:52:38 AM »

can anyone get a perfect idle with these fucking things. my car has gone through 5 different maps and its the same idle bs every time, i.e. it sputters or just shuts off no matter if its hot or cold engine wise. my gsr ran fine with the stock injectors but i wanted to put these in right before boost to eliminate one less thing to do but they wont work right for me for shit...my buddy has had 450's in his las na for over a year and had none of these issues..i also checked for mechanical issues like a vacuum leak or the idle screw being messed up, the fast idle is screwed in, and so forth

Everybody get a perfect idle with these. Maybe they need to be cleaned... What is your motor? Post your bin.

Did you check for vacuum leaks at the injector seals themselves?  Post up the .bin

Shitty idle does not tell us much.

I had issues with mine, but it turned out that the idle section of my map was way too lean for some reason.  Did you even look at the first page in this section or try to search at all?

I don't have the .bin for it, my buddy helps me out with the maps. the motor is a gsr with eagle h beams, CP pistons, blockguard(i know i know) skunk 2 retainers and dual valve springs with ferra exhaust valves. He actually also told me the same info and until i get my turbo on there when its ready for a real tune to not worry about it so i guess i have to go from there....thanks for the help its been very informative!

Your injectors are not causing your shitty idle unless they are physically damaged or dirty. I've used 4-5 sets of them with perfect idles every time.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about breaking in a built engine or the damage/premature wear that results from running it for a long time with the tune fucked up.  Hell, you don't even need to plug the ECU in for what your setup is without the turbo, since it's not "real" or anything.

LOLz It's harder to make dsm 450's idle rough then it is to have them Idling smooth. Like everyone else said. Damaged or dirty injectors or someone is trying to rock a basemap or something.
