wherever they are made, dewault definitely makes the best battery powered tools out there, hands down. Pricey yes, but they're the best. My father has a construction crew and he's been through more than a few brands, dewault is downright burly.
I totally disagree. I've owned or used pretty much evertying out there. Dewalt is middle of the road. Not expensive either. You can get any component off ebay for $85. I like Makita the best. Sure it's more expensive than a dewalt but if you used both side by side there is no comparison.
The only makita things I don't like: 2-spd hammer drill, and new 14" concrete saws come with cat. converters in the muffler. The 2-spd gearbox always breaks teeth, and it goes w/o saying that style of hammer drill has poor hammer power. The cat in the saw likes to melt pistons after extended use.
Other than that, Makita is about the best for the price in most areas. Their giant breakers > bosch, hilti, and wacker models.
