40 something pound injectors high impedance... who makes em?
« on: November 08, 2009, 04:33:08 PM »

I might end up using dsm 450s but they're low impedance... I really wanted to run straight high injectors. I have 55 lows now and want to run 42 pound highs but the only ones I know of are the ford motorsports that are overpriced and come from rustangs. Any other similar sized options that are rhmt approved?

WRX top feeds are 440cc and high impedance. they're a little bit shorter than your average injector though.

srt4 injectors are like a 4something cc @ 42psi FP

you can find a deal on ford 42lbers. i sold the 42lb greentops out of my mustang for $100.

The '03 SRT4's are 450cc at 43.5 psi, and they get larger from there.

I wouldn't run FMS 42# injectors if they were free.  Every Mustang has a set, every set leaks down even new sets.  Strike one for not being able to read the piston face, strike two for the hot start/flood condition they cause in some cars requiring you pull every injector clip and crank to clean the engine out, strike three injectors shouldn't have a strike one they're injectors.

Late 87 and 88 n/a rx7s have 460 highs with square plugs. 89 and up n/a are 460 with oval plugs.

They are 14mm tops instead of 11mm, prepare to make a jig out of a block of wood and overbore your fuel rail exits.  Or get the JD kit from xenocron.

Can you put these on a lathe and cut them down like rc, lucas, precision etc....?

Yes, but the power clip is pretty high on them so you have to be aware of whether or not it'll run afoul of the fuel rail when recessed.  The SRT fuel rail is a lot akin to a motorcycle fuel rail, where the feed bungs extrude from the rail itself instead of being drilled into the rail.
