Any Ectune users having the update issue?
« on: March 20, 2009, 05:23:09 PM »

I was getting ready to  buy Ectune after all the praise ive heard about it and apparently theres an issue where the shit is stuck in a constant update loop. Anyone else have it and having this issue?

I swear ill go buy fucking crome and wait 2 years for a key than deal with this. The worst part is no one seems to be really investigating the issue on the ectune forums. I went out and bought a laptop especially for this application. /rant

Ive been using it for awhile without a hiccup. Then i went maybe a month and a half without opening the program and now im having all sort of problems.

First it was the force update wouldn't work. Now it works but will not allow me to get the current version. So im not able to open the program still. I chatted with Calvin and he swears i need to uninstall my operating system and then reinstall. He says my systems clock has been messed with. I haven't touched the systems clock and its dead on time. I don't want to mess with my computers operating system for nothing  :-\. I guess i got to trust the man. I might try it tonight, something is telling me to hold off since others seem to be having the same problem.

If that's the deciding issue on your mind just take a minute and look at how much Calvin is on the forum tryin to solve and update these issues.  Yes the software can be buggy but so is the alternative you mentioned, we get what we pay for and this doesn't cost enough Calvin can quit his day job.  I went with ectune over crome cause the support and extra features were there that crome lacked.  Unless Cui has stepped it up since the last time I used crome, that forum was filled with 'has John Cui died?' threads.

Yeah, honestly I was probably going to go to ectune anyway, I guess I was 1. Frustrated and 2. making sure that the ectune team did give a damn about fixing stuff rather quickly. I have to get a new o2 sensor, but ill more than likely be making my pro purchase today.

The eCtune team does care, period.  Which is why I represent it and why I defend Calvin's intellectual property.

All I'm allowed to say atm is that I'm frustrated too, and apparently I can only take it up with Calvin. I think I can also say Calvin doesn't ever read my emails.
