It was announced Thursday afternoon that computer hackers had obtained 160 megabytes of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in England. Those e-mails involved communication among many scientific researchers and policy advocates with similar ideological positions all across the world. Those purported authorities were brazenly discussing the destruction and hiding of data that did not support global-warming claims.

I clicked on them all and read a few sentences of cherry picked bullshit, served up with a side of republican catch-phrases and trashing of science.  Mann has been tested and retested and violated by a bunch of republican politician-pricks and right wing media since his article was published in 1998 and generated the "hockey stick controversy"  After Joe Barton had the work reviewed by 'independent' panels (one of which was handpicked by Joe Barton) and the other was the National Research Council.  Guess who found problems with Mann's work, and who didn't?  Here, read this.  It's actually quite well written and unbiased.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hockey_stick_controversy
