Stainless welding near Portsmouth, NH?
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:10:29 PM »

There aren't regional forums so I figured I'd post it here.

Willing to drive 30+ minutes in any direction. I've got a vband setup between my turbo and 3" 304L stainless 16 ga downpipe, unfortunately it's not lined up well at all, and the downpipe flange needs to be cut and rewelded 1/4" closer to the turbo and 1/4" down.

Anyone have any suggestions for shops or individuals? It doesn't have to be a show quality weld job but it needs to not crack, and be priced reasonably.

Go to harbor freight or similar store and buy a welder and do it urself that's always the cheapest way . Why don't u learn how to fish instead of asking us to catch the fish for u? :?:

why would you not run it, it makes no sense. If there is a water cooled section it was designed to be run with it for cooling. Pretty sure garrett knows better then some fat guy in a accord. nbspnbsp :P

Well...

1. The exhaust is leaking NOW, and I have no idea how to weld. If you ask anyone who is good, I'm sure they wouldn't say you could learn to do a quality weld in a few hours by yourself.
2. Welder costs far more then a single welding job. I don't have much money, I'm planning on buying a welder in a few months, for now it'd be unwise.
3. Word of mouth is practically the only way I've found to get info about shops. Or did I miss the RateLocalWelders.com?

Having said that.. anyone in the MA/NH/ME area got suggestions?

Man thank god you are so intelligent! I'm glad somewhere I mentioned in my post that I couldn't find ANYONE to weld. Apparently english isn't your forte so I'll explain a bit more...

"Anyone have any suggestions for shops or individuals?"

I am looking for advice from people who may know and have experience with certain shops or individuals (before they were touched by the hand of god and made perfect welds themselves in a day with their harbor freight welders) in my area.

God forbid someone assumes SOMEONE on this site might have a clue about something and be willing to share it. Grumpy old elitists who would rather spend 8 hours a day ragging on new posters in order to impress each other then not post or answer the question. How cute.
