My old POS Firebird

So I just found the video I made of my 67 firebird, thought I'd post it up since I don't talk about it much. Got the car at age 15, got it driving at age 17, then haven't done a whole lot to it. FYI anything marked new is under 1k miles on it, but actually 10 yrs old.

1967 Firebird 326 H.O. convertible
SMC 350ci, mild cam, rhodes lifters, some giant quadrajet with a bad accel pump ($10 swap meet)
new Flowmaster American THunder exhaust, summit headers
rebuild TH350 with a B&m stg2 shift kit, stock converter
New cloth top, fixed power top motor
Halfway decent rims (I was 16 and very few choices for oddball bolt pattern)
Stainless brake & fuel lines
new brakes (giant finned drums all around)
90k miles, less than any Honda I've owned


I was drifting it before drifting was cool :-*

I only wish... Mine was sitting since 78 when I got it in 97. So it was quite the garage ornament for a while. Last 3 years it was sitting in a storage shed. Today it's off to winter storage again.

Depending on how things go, I'll hopefully be fixing the body next year, then all the chrome. My brother works at a body shop that has done 3 old cars for Andrew Bogut from the Milwaukee Bucks, and the owner is an awsome guy. The interior is actually mint - the orginal vinyl hasn't even cracked at the stiching.


If everything goes right, it will have a turbo LS1 before the world ends in 2012.

people been "drifting" for just about ever. it just didnt have a f&f name and have japenese shows lol. i wish i had something old school like that. eventually.

Im jealous...when i was 15-16 i had a 68 camaro that i intended to restore.  But I stupidly sold it and bought 93 :P  I regret it, it wasnt too bad but i was in way over my head skill-wise at the time.

I know what you mean. I was literally one click away from getting a theft-recovered GSR back in 97, but I got the firebird instead. I probably would have wrapped that thing around a tree or something, since I tend to be too impulsive. I've thought of selling it a few times, but 99% of the people who've had one seem to ALWAYS say they regret selling it.

And JD thanks for 1-starring my vid. Makes up for me 1-starring your mom's vid. :P

My uncle has one like this except it is red. Had been an ornament for the past 10 or so years of my life. He keeps talking about build a BB Twin turbo setup for it up he seems to spend his money on other fun things instead. (not that I complain about having a pool to access anytime but it would be nice to see it running again)

FUCK YOU, and you need to look closely at some R1 ITBs.  They go for $20 on eBay currently and the second set of "traction control" butterflies are actuated by a petite and nifty electric motor/TPS limit switch combo that will really get your hamster wheel spinning.

Yeah, but that's missing the linkage that makes it easy.

And, if I'm not mistaken the secondary butterflies are used for traction control - so, they operate pretty fast.
