f22b1 EGR and Crome
« on: December 03, 2009, 02:28:12 PM »

Car is a '94 Accord with JDM f22b1 and stock poa ECU.

I want to tune it with a chipped p06 and Crome, now I realize that Crome doesn't support the EGR, but do I need to physically delete it or can I just leave it intact and not worry about it because the ECU isn't controlling it?

just let it sit there. you can delete it if you want to but like you said the ecu doesnt recognize it so it isnt operational.

To be honest, it's not my car so I'm not too worried about deleting it if the car will run fine with it still attached. I'm just doing a street tune on the car for cash. I will recommend it to the owner, but it's not skin off my back either way ;)

The block off plate is just to get that ugly pile of crap out of the engine bay and save a pound. I ran a bunch of egr block off plates on the mill but once they sold I never did another batch of them.

Got a link to where I can check one out?

Saw this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-H22,-H23,-F22,-EGR-Delete-Block-Off-Plate_W0QQitemZ350283643290QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20091124?IMSfp=TL091124192004r37076

These aren't like Nisssan,  correct? The exhaust gas comes from the head, not the exhaust mani?

Correct. The EGR is on the intake manifold.

And you'll need to convert that p06 to vtak, but I'm sure you knew that.

Ya it's converted already ;)

I've also been reading that pin A6 and A11 need to be swapped as well, since he is currently running the poa ECU and the EGR and O2 heater are swapped with the poa ECU. So in order to run a standard 4 wire and p06/p28 variant, the pins need to be switched back to the proper location(assuming he changed the pins in the harness)

Yep.

That's if you want to leave closed loop operation on. I always tune the entire map and run off what I tuned. Always gets better gas mileage than what the o2 sensor can.

OK, that's what I was planning on doing just to save me from having to fuck with his wiring
