D series heads have been cut of lots of times to compare ports. A lot of good info comes from this.

Is it just me, or is it odd that the divided is thicker where it starts than it is near the valve? It appears to be less thick than the blade just above the valve (right side).

Or just fist the intake ports as large as they'll go and stuff the biggest intake valves in there that you can fit, and have the same thing. Sure there are tricks and what not, but pffft.

No. There is no way to make the port that large, D-series simply do not have enough material.

Yup. The divider actually has a sort of balance tube between the intake valves. It's angled to favor one valve too. I think it has to do with swirling the mixture like the y8 in a different way... This was an accord k24a4 head if you're wondering.
