any one know why my shit does this

after a few hours of idleing it starts to do this yo-yo shit, i can also hear the hard drive pulsing, its so bad the mouse gets delayed every 1/4 sec and typing is laggy as hell. shit just started a few days ago, only thing i have installed is chrome, already uninstalled it.

Background processes? There are only like 6 necessary processes to run windows. Try killing shit off one at a time until your CPU usage levels out. My guess anywho

Edit the columns in task manager to show processor time. That will show you which processes are using the most. Process explorer will help to if it is really malware. Could be anything though. Even indexing can spike that high if you have a ton of files.

I usually turn off as much shit as I can. File indexing is first, since I usually remmeber where I save my stuff. Next I try to keep shitty anti-virus stuff off. I actually use VMware+heavy anti-vir on my other dual-boot OS to test iffy stuff.

One thing I hate about windows is that after x-time it starts to xfer stuff from memory to the swap file. I usually run w/o one unless I run an app that needs it. I usually just suspend the PC though, since my loads up in 5 seconds.

ok did some of that shit, somewhat helped. earlier it wouldnt even turn on, it did after about 5 tries. using a fanspeed/voltage/temp monitoring program i noticed the +12v input was reading 8.3v, other voltages were also a little lower then what they should have been. swapped in another PS and it starts and runs fine but its still showing 8.3ish volts.

last couple days i can only play mw2 for about 10 min befor the computer just shuts off and restarts. still does that shit with new PS.
