Damn that WG opens right away, guessing boost hits like nAOW.
Porn could be better, but a self-built setup is rare now a days and appreciated. Let me be the first to wish you a merry x-mas and a happy FUCK YOU. :)

Well done!

Added more timing changed out uncrushed 1g dsm bov for crushed dsm bov, it's somehow holding 11psi now guess I had a leak...

Welcome noob

solid intro. Welcome.

Welcome. It looks cheap and dirty. Porn is acceptable. Do work!
-
Well it done blowed up. I guess running 13pounds and 23 degrees of timing wasn't such a smart idea after all...

Awesome what next? :noel:
Another turbo motar. Rode in a friends na b20/vtec ed hatch and I was dissapointed. So unless I'm building a na h22 beast, which I do not have the monies for, I don't think I'm going back to na...
Put another d15 in usually free engines
That one was free lol and the one before this previous one was $75.
I have two sets of vitara pistons, 2 d15b1 blocks, a d16z6 block, a dohc zc block, two dohc zc heads, some ching chong d16 rods, a z6 head, a good non vtak head and two good d15 cranks. If I can find a virgin d16 crank I'm going dohc zc with vitaras. Right meow it might just be easy and cheaper to build another d15.
-
So since everyone in this forsaken shit hole I live in treats d15/d16's like gold I decided to do a f2d build without cutting into my cars body. Everyone on the interwebs says its impossible.... fuck them I'm a magician.
Since I work at a stealership and people can't take care of there cars I stumbled upon a 99 accord f23a1 with a fucked up head that needed valves. Bought the core motor for $100 put new rod bearings in it, a poor mans balance shaft delete and threw the head away.
Poor mans b/s delete

I'm guessing you shaved the 3rd step off the f23 pulley?
In case you didn't know, the H22/H23 upper plenum bolts onto the f22a6 manifold. More plenum volume & throttle body options.
BTW Wanna sell the F23 intake manifold?
-
Solid

That's a smooth bounce back.
"13pounds and 23 degrees of timing" Yolololololo!

I'm using a k series pulley.
I know about the h series plenum.
-
K24 pulley. I used a hacksaw to cut where the timing cover seal rides on. I'm a idiot and didn't tighten the crank bolt tight enough so the id wallowed out.
(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi639.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fuu118%2F2006gli%2F20130721_223639_zps13bfb74b.jpg&hash=ea1070d115550607814ac2c02cdb25050fbf9258)
So I bought another one and instead of hacking it up I took it to a machine shop to have it machined down. I made another mistake and misjudged the amount I needed them to machine off so I had to cut some of the pulley off myself. On the brake lathe she goes.

Good work :noel:
-
Why the k24 crank pulley? Other wise im liking this!
I have a f23 with k20 rods and pistons coming soon.
-
Why the k24 crank pulley?
Space, price and availability. I tried using a kias, Nissan, various Honda/Acuras and some domestic shit. J-series fit but are too pricey and are huge. F/H-series stick out too much. K-series pulley is $45 for me, I can get them over nighted for free ninety nine, and they require the least amount of work to get them to fit.
-
Ok I can see that because of the plate pushing it over.
-
Nice.
-
Pulley differences. k24 far left modified f22a6 middle and broken jseries far right.

Plans have changed. I was going to run an gm-5 turdblow from a 90's era duramax but I just picked up a dsm manifold, o2 housing, feed/drain line and a ported evo 3 big 16g with no shaft play for $300

what are you doing with the gm5 turbo?
-
what are you doing with the gm5 turbo?
I haven't decided yet. I've had the hot side milled down to block off the internal gate.
-
Well if you decide to dump it, let me know. I'm sure I could possible have a buyer for you.
-
Question on the homemade balance shaft eliminator kit. Did you block the oil ports for the balance shafts?
-
Question on the homemade balance shaft eliminator kit. Did you block the oil ports for the balance shafts?
Yes, I blocked the oil passages to the balance shafts using solid dowels. Don't try turning the bearings...its next to impossible.

Its running!

complete
Its been running for a week I had a shit ton of boost leaks but its good meow.
I traded a ported f23 manifold and cash for some HiProfile 800cc's Injectors and its running pretty quick. I'll post a video one day.

Fuck yea!

I bet that thing moves.

Yeah its pretty beastly. spools 7 then creeps to 16. I think I have a boost leak :'(

Also: Torque is cool. Can't wait until this job comes through and I can finally boost my failboat.

It just makes sense, in a Civic/teg they're almost like bigblock D/B's. Considering this car has an OEM manifold/turbo/DP elbow on it, this shit can easily give the original HF manifold setups a run for their money. I really want to see how steve's f22 spools the evo turbo with his divided evo manifold.
-
They're almost like bigblock D/B's.
That's what I tell everybody lol. Just picked up a sureflow 12v diaphragm pump, a solenoid, full throttle switch and a nozzle for $0.00, so poor mans water meth is going on soon.

Can ya do a quick little run down / write-up on this :noel:
-
JUst don't get too happy witrh the nozzle. Id do a boost actuated setup before a full throttle setup myslef
-
A hobbs switch or ecu-operated general purpose output would finish it off nicely. If you aren't boosting the shit out of it, I doubt you'll really need it. You'll probably max out the pistons' ringlands from cylinder pressure before the fuel detonates - presuming you aren't greedy with timing.

I was thinking about a hobb switch...I'm super greedy with timing. I really don't need it but it's not going to hurt anything as long as the solenoid works as its supposed to. I really need to vent the crankcase.

Fuel pump is dead >:(

Love this big block funnnnn jejeje ;DDD ;DDD I am dying to go f2b but my d16 turbo has been to strong with me waiting for it to die to swap

Who the fuck are you?

Any updates?

Hows the hood clearnace? Nice build.
-
Any updates?
Took all the stickers off, roof rack off and got some steel wheels with one gay center cap.
Sucked in screen mesh. Had to re do the valve seats. Sometime in September?
Fuel pump took a dump. September?
Then map sensor took a shit. Early October
Motor started to lose compression now its running on three cylinders. Mid October.
Got a New job at the local toyota stealership in teh parts department. November.
Head is off. I'm going to slap some rings in a f22b1 and swap this hoe out. Present day.
Hows the hood clearnace? Nice build.
Ummm pretty good. I had to switch to a newer oil cap and shave it down. I have about a 1.5" risers on it. I also trimmed some of the ribbing out from underneath the hood.
-
See if you can find a f23 cheap. I just pick up a spare f23 block last night for $50 it needs valve seals but for the price who cares!
-
Before it started to run like a metro.

-
Damn that thing movies petty good!
Cant wait to get my F going, I also pick up another F23 for $50 sat night :-\
-
My f23 was free. Customer faked a headgasket failure (oil in the radiator) to get out of paying for the car. Dealership swapped the engine and I got the "core".
-
Fuck, best I can find for an F23 is $350. I can damn near order one from Japan for that price.
Right now I want one to stuff in a 2000 Lude I got for cheap, if the h22 head & block are warped. Speaking of that, how likely is it the block or head on an H22 warped from blowing the gasket via overheat?
-
Speaking of that, how likely is it the block or head on an H22 warped from blowing the gasket via overheat?
Pretty rare, I've never had anything warp badly enough that a new gasket and correct torque sequence wouldn't seal it up again but YMMV. I've also never had to take more than a few thou at most when resurfacing a head or block.
-
I have a J35 I picked up in a similar way. Timing belt broke, but somehow didn't bend any valves. Now if I could only afford the tranny for it

Ordered some bearings from Honda they won't come in till this weekend maybe :< in the mean time I installed some solid dowels to block off the oil ports to the balance shaft bearings.

cant use a K tranny. the J has the starter on the tranny side and the K has the starter on the engine side. the j block is too wide for the starter
-
Push start it you pussy
-
I'm thinking golf cart style. Have an electric motor roll the car, then dump the clutch. I'd rather fab that up than push it every time
-
I got a free J35 because it broke the timing belt and killed the valves. Needless to say I need heads but been throwing the idea of adapting a vg30dett 5spd trans and going rwd or a th400 with trans brake
-
I already talked to a guy about making a GM adaptor for rwd. I have a 5 speed in my truck that I want to swap with a 700r4 I have. Then stick it in an ef hatch I have with an s10 rear axle. One day if I ever have time and money to throw at something stupid.

Done dirty cheap!
Crank some boost and see what she makes. I have a 8.8" laying around.

I has progress
Thought it would be nicer to my neighbors new born if I didn't use air tools to take the axles out so they stayed in whilst I struggled to take the motor and trans out together...never again :(

This will be the third time this head will be at the machine shop fml.
-
Why not pick up another head?
-
they should be cheap enough.
-
Because I'm an idiot, and if its just the valve im sure I can pick up a new for less money, and effort it would take to pull one from the junkyard that could be warped, cracked, or plain fucked. No good yards around my parts, and the closest legit one would be in Tallahassee which is two hours away. This Saturday I work too so I have absolutely no time :<
-
Ended up bending that one valve some how. I've ordered a new valve ($15.52 from honda :>) shitty felpro gasket set and some honda coolant and got it back together not too long ago. Maybe I'll post some pics later.

I keep debating on selling my sleeved block to do this awesome

How much did you have to take off the K Crank Pulley to get it to work?
I looking for an option to keep my covers on and minimal bashing the frame rail in an EG lol
-
Plateless F2B in an EG is a lot cheaper/easier, no space issues with the K20 IM either:
http://www.d-series.org/forums/diy-forum/188137-h2b-f2b-w-o-plate.html (http://www.d-series.org/forums/diy-forum/188137-h2b-f2b-w-o-plate.html)
Keeping the stock dual-runner manifold only requires moving some brake lines.

Qft but I can't find bseries stuff here for cheap.

Throttle cable is stuck open and I got "demoted" at my job. I'm now working in the shop as a service technician. Fuck the bullshit.
-
Well finally got a new throttle cable from Honda for $28 :Jew:, a marine 24 series battery from advance auto parts, and some rotella. Changed the oil and drove her home. Next day wouldn't start ,always have had a starting issue, so I've swapped in another coil/plugs still wouldn't start so its been sitting for a couple days till today. I was running ngk r5671a-7 non projected plugs and switched it up to r5672a-8 which are projected...understandably I would prefer the 7's over the 8's but they will suffice till I find a suitable replacement... if I ever decide to "research" it more.
-
Try a different icm?

I went to advance and tested it and it works. If it ever comes down to me swapping one out I have a million good ones.

Fuck yes!
Make sure all your grounds are in great shape, if not replace. Also try another ecu and chip.
-
Try adding or reducing cranking fuel values if possible. The crudest way is to reduce or increase the injector flow value in your EMS, some have specific tables for those values. My problems were from ultra-cold weather, ancient plugs/wires, and spark plug tubes half-filled with oil.
-
What does it do when it wont start? Cough at all?
Start for a sec fine, then die right away?
Lemme know how you tested for spark and fuel if you want some more ideas and stuffs.
-

Grounds are new and the ecu works in other cars.

I changed some crank fuel consumption values haven't had a chance to really fuck with it.

If It doesn't fire up the first try I'm sol pretty much. It just turns over and doesn't even act like its firing. Once I do get it to start I have to rev it up to keep it idling and eventually it will hold it's idle. I'm not running a iacv as crome sucks dick for iacv compensation.
I'm testing for spark the usual way. Take a gas fouled plug out, ground it, plug hole with another spark plug, discount injectors and turn over.
Shit is getting old. Sent a valve cover off to have some an bungs welded on and the fuckers put them on at too high of an angle so they hit my hood when I close it. I've bought some earl's tight 90 fittings and it still doesn't look like its going to work X'( tried talking to there customer service department and they're telling me to kick rocks pretty much. These guys also left the factory pcv holes unplugged...slack ass motherfuckers. I also made a huge mistake of buying a catchcan from them and it isn't even baffled so my car is puking oil everywhere lol. Fuck me. I'm an idiot. Worse money spent. I feel like I would fit in on Honda tech.

Great choice with the H23A. If you need a BIN to get it started, I have a decent file that's eCtune based (burnable). Keep in mind the H23A FPR is probably 58psi not 36psi like most H22's, that's what mine tested out as.

In that case just use an H22 map to start. For the IM do NOT cut the dividers between runners, just make them into full-length oval-inlet runners. The H23A doesn't like super-short runners, plus the area below the side walls gets very thin if removed. With the TB all you really need is decent header and a good tune.
BTW that chick's tits are a perfect 10 IMO.

Solid numbers :noel:

233whp, fuck yeah!
I know people who spent years & $$$ chasing 220+ on a b-series, stock H23A does it with just head parts. And if the rings ever go south, F23A+k20 pistons will make even more with that head.

People at the dyno I went to were getting there gsr dyno'd and couldn't understand how I was making that power on a stock block. If anything goes on this one I'm going sleeved f23 and a volvo ta5132 turbo.

Good power for a stock motor!

Took it to the local track last night. Ran a 13.7@107mph 2.3 60'. Had to roll on the light and slip the clutch into 2nd to actually make it down the track.

If you open up the ring gaps you can make over 300whp on the stock f22 without worry. By the time you break ringlands, you'll be ready for some forged slugs anyways.
