arp torque spec (rod bolts)?

Well i have always heard you "should" stretch your rod bolts when using arp's. but is this 100% needed? Can i just torque them to spec and not worry about the stretch?

Also i have tried to look for the torque spec for these bolts but can't find them and i lost my packaging to look up the part numbers.

Stretch is the best way as that is how fasteners work.

Stretch is what ARP recommends.  I was a cheap ass and didn't get the stretch gauge so I just torqued mine down to the Honda specs.

I havn't had any issues, but I am also not the smartest  O0.  I tightened mine down loosened them up and then torqued them a second time.  Everything is still holding together.

ARP shows 26 ft-lbs with their special lube.

0.005"-0.0055" stretch.

I've built a few engines with just the torque spec and no rod stretch gauge. You will be fine.

Different motor, but I torqued mine to ARP's spec of 45 ft*lbs lubed with engine oil. It worked fine so far.

I never had a problem torquing it down to the factory spec + 10 ft lbs.
