CT20 vs 76mm master power
« on: April 15, 2010, 03:09:37 PM »

currently rocking a z6... nothing special, but have a b16 on the engine stand (stock) needing a few random parts.   now which turbo would be better....   i know a guy that will let them go cheap...  its 2 off a 94 supra (the ct20 i believe) or a 76mm master power...   i don't know anything about either of these...   have an HF mani somewhere around here that i'll make work. or get Jay to make me a sweet mani :P

thanks.

Is this a troll thread? hf manifold and b series, 76mm or a stock turbo with what a t3 45 trim wheel or similer. WTf you on dude.

btw 94 supras and twin turbo and even if it was a mk3 older supra you still have the name of the turbo wrong. it would be a ct26.

Well think of the name 76mm unless there marketing these to dumb fuck ricers that would mean it has a 76mm inducer. which is what a 800+++hp turbo.

go back to the drawing board

damn...   i knew it was big but didn't know how big...  was just offered them, so i posted here before anything. i knew i would get a better response here then with google searches.

think the ct26 is to small for the z6... its about a 14b right?

The ct26 should be just fine, but then you're stuck with the stupid non-T3 turbine footprint which is annoying to deal with.

oil feed and drain are on the same side too so you'll have to fab a little plate to tap or put a compression fitting on the stock line.

i know a few machine shops in town that can hook me up on random plates for cheap...

just as a side note:  everything ive read said the ct26 is older supras till 93, and the ct20 is on the twin turbo 94+ supras.  and i know they are off a 94 twin turbo supra...  still havent physically held the turbo but know the guy very well and he wouldn't sell me something that was bad.

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

I think you have the ct20 and ct26 backwards.

Well cosidering there twin turbo i doubt a stock twin set up can make 600whp. They make what 280hp stock?

ct20 comes on the twin turbo supras.

ct20's are off jdm spec 2jz's the ct12b's came in the us spec model.

I would assume it's off and older mr2 or other 3sgte powered car.

Toyota turbos are by far the least impressive thing on the market.  All the CT series are far inferior to any Garrett or holset you can pick up for dirt money.  Not worth it even if your on a budget.
