so, i have been in need of a truck for a while now. found this super mint 1990 chevy silverado with a rod knock for $300. body is almost 100% dent free it is 100% rust free and the interior gets a 9/10 for its age. boost will be happening soon and expect a build thread when it does happen









got the engine pulled today to make room for a 350 i have been holding on to for just such an occasion

it ran really nice too other than the rod knock. the battery was done when i went to look at the truck and we had no way to jump it off. i figured it was well worth $300 even if it didnt run at all so i bought it. got it home and put a battery in it, fired up and ran great. took a prybar to all of the steering parts and everything seems tight too. i should be able to toss this 350 in and be on the road


i really have no need for 4wd. i am in flat as hell FL. the only off roading there is to do is plowing though the mud. 4wd is just something else to break. it has a bed and can tow a trailer, thats my needs

damd if those tires came with it they look worth the $300 themselves

The tires have about 50% tread left, but the sides are chewed up by rubbing behind the fenders. The guy I bought it from cut out whatever was rubbing so I guess they are fine now.

replace fuel pump ASAP.

And change fuel filters as often as you can (paper elements inside them clog with just a little moisture in the fuel)

Also look at the wiring to the fuel pump you will see corroded connectors and it will give you headaches if not addressed. :yes:

Also if you have a metal side saddle fuel tank check for major rust from road salt/sand trapped between the cover and the tank and replace with new plastic one.

You can use the larger injectors from a 454 TB for more fuel (2x 85lbs.)  ;D

Or switch to a multiport adapters setup from Edelbrock, TurboCity or other vendors out there and just switch PROMS in your stock ecu. :yes:

I am considering doing a multi-port swap. The wiring should be easy since all of the GM stuff is batch fire if I remember correctly.

Still trying to decide on how I'm going to run this 350 right off the bat. The ecu has a chip for a 305 right now and I'm just trying to get it running as cheap as possible and then upgrade later. I am considering trying to tune it if possible, but I might just try to find a 350 chip. So far my research says I just need an adaptor and I can use my ostrich to tune and then burn a chip.
