Dyno Results, BW S362, Talon
« on: April 03, 2009, 12:12:17 PM »

Went and got a tune at DB Performance in Rogers, MN last night.  Made some decent power.  Also keep in mind this is an AWD Dyno Dynamics (tend to read around 15% lower then a dyno jet).

I'm pretty happy with the results.  Should be able to break into the 10's with a capable driver (not sure if I'm a capable driver though).

Sad, I was told S362 spools like a T3/T04E and it's obviously a little laggier.

It was 35psi, tappering off to about 32 by 8k.

On the street I see about 15psi by appx 4600rpm, 30 by 5000rpm, and 35 by about 5200.

My old TO4E 50 trim I'd usually see 25psi by about 4500.  So it is a little bit laggier, but still have nearly 3000rpm where I can be in full boost, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Thanks for the comments.  I've been trying to put up the video here for the past couple days but the site wouldn't load for me.

Anyhow, I added the quick little video we made, to the first post.  Enjoy!  And thanks again for the comments!

If it lasts longer than a week, I can slash your tires and challenge you to a race with this shizzle.   :noel:

You're AWD, so I get a 1319 foot head start.  O0

Man that car would be fun, I love how smooth the dyno graph is. It must feel like the hand of god just picks you up and throws you down the road when you punch that bitch.

Now if you can get everything that is bolted to the motor to last, you will have a solid car.

Id love to see a ripper of this thing. Did I read correctly that youre running a t04e at 30+ psi? I thought those turbos starting getting really inefficient that high in boost.

Yeah it's a Borg Warner S362.  Has Bullseye's Race comp cover, and a .70AR Exh Housing.  For comparisons sake to help put things into perspective, it is somewhat similar to a GT35 sized turbo (61mm comp wheel).  But the S362 has a 62mm comp wheel, has Extended Tip Technology which supposidely helps that comp wheel flow more air at higher boost then a similarly sized comp wheel without Extended Tips.  So it flows a bit more then a GT35, but is probably the closest Garrett comparison I  can think of.

So to answer the question about being inefficient at higher boost, my research showed the exact opposite.  The Extended Tip Technology is supposed to make these things shine at higher boost.  Supposed to allow them to flow more air, at higher boost levels then a similarly sized comp wheel without ETT.

Just to see it with my own eyes, I decided to head to the local shop (MAP) that has an AWD DynoJet, to see if the Dyno Dynamics really does read that much lower.

My results pretty much proved it spot on.  I saw a 16% difference.  Here's my sheet from the 3 quick pulls on the DynoJet.
