I did a tune about a year and a half ago. It has been running fine then just farted out. I have a solid cel. I have no spark no fuel injector noid light blinking I don't even hear the pump priming.

Now I just started with the pump when I take the pump control wire to ground I hear the main relay clicking but don't hear the pump.

I am going to try a main relay first. But if it turns out to be a dead ecu what is the leading cause? Maybe I can just replace a capacitor or something?

Often times solid CEL's still run engines in limp dick mode... mine did at least when I blew the IAT and PCS circuits.  I drove to a guy who had a P28 and back home in limp dick mode.  It sucked, but it started and ran no problemo.

Its not even starting in limp mode (it took the chip out and it wouldn't start) usually that forces it in limp mode.

Im a bit lost on this one.

That's how an ECU with J1 set and no chip behaves.

Reflow the socket and latch, if that doesn't fix it replace the latch, if that doesn't fix it throw it away and get another.

Problem solved car broken into and ecu stolen along with speaker system. I hope it was a shit ecu. Time to start fresh.

Beatup 4thgen > Hyundai. Seriously guys, learn how to do wiring. Get a cheaper 2-way DEI alarm (avital/hornet) and wire that shit to all the goodies. Then get some tri-notch tamper resistant bolts to screw down the ecu with. Make them theives work their asses off at least.

My friend is building a 9:1cr ka24-t...for drag racing/fun. I joke with him all the time "so when will it be drivable?" Granted he's gone nuts with it, that is practically required given the base you start with though.

Uh, I've fed stock KA24DE rods 400wtq.  There's nothing weak about those drivetrains.  The problem with them is third rate wiring and feces electronics.

It was in the center of town ya its a high crime rate. They hit 3 other cars in the same lot. Snagged mostly stereo stuff.

Yea, I would agree. But the 4th gen isnt that beat up, and its an SI. The mexicans around here must be crafty. Alarms, kill switches, pulling the ECU, etc, none of it seems to work. Ive heard of people going as far as sawzalling a large car sized hole in the garage door. I say fuck it, if you want it that bad, youre gonna get it. I have a battery kill switch, and my garage.
