holset h1c turbine wheel replace?
« on: October 10, 2010, 08:58:13 PM »

I'm wondering if I should change this wheel out before I boost my car or not? The turbo spins freely and has very little shaft play but sewell said it was up to me if I wanted to change it or not what do you guys think?

I would definitely replace it.

Going to spool slow and have balance issues.

If theres material missing from the wheel then it isn't balanced anymore is it? Externally balanced, what does that mean?

I would definitely replace it.

Going to spool slow and have balance issues.

Enjoy spinning your shaft >100k rpms with a CHINESE rebuild kit. Sure it may go in, and feel great. But how confident are you that it's gonna hold together?
I'd pay to KNOW beyond a doubt that the parts were genuine Holset quality.

Anyone use the egay rebuild kits on a slut? Seem like they are Holset replacement parts? I'd like to know this myself for future reference.

I'll call up the dodge dealer tomorrow to see what they charge for a rebuild kit and exhaust turbine.
