There is 3 types of classes of fire arms.

PROHIBITED -
full-automatic,
handguns with a barrel less than 105mm (4.14 inches),
silencers,
handguns in caliber .25 or .32,
large capacity magazines for a semi-automatic center-fire the maximum capacity is 5 rounds for long guns, 10 rounds for handguns

RESTRICTED -
handguns which are not prohibited
semi-automatic centerfire firearms with a barrel length less than 470mm (18.5 inches) which are not prohibited
firearms, which can be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660mm (26 inches) by folding/telescoping/etc., which are not prohibited

NON-RESTRICTED
shotguns and rifles which are not restricted or prohibited

ANY air gun over 500 ftps is considered a fire arm

Any thing Prohibited is fully illegal unless you got grandfathered in and owned it before the laws changed in like 1995-98 ish (ill never be able to own one, not like i care)
Restricted are a pain in the ass but legal. You need to be a member of a gun club before you can buy one and need a special permit to transport it(from your house to gun smith, gun club ect and cant make any stops along the way. not even to get gas) so i cant take mine camping/hunting
non-restricted is supper slack pretty much do what ever you want expect have a big clip, fire it with in city limits and some small bull shit like that.

getting a licence is supper easy, you take a 2day class fill out your forms and send it in. they do a back round check and you get it in the mail in a few weeks.

ya the gun laws suck here but at least when i go in the bush i have allot shit to hunt.

Is that license you're talking about to buy the guns, or to carry them?

OT- I got pulled over yesterday and had to let the cop know before he saw it that my loaded handgun was sitting next to me. I've got a permit to do that, though.

Everything I quoted made me laugh, especially the 25 and 32cal pistol shit.

Its retarded here, with each class of fire arm the laws are different.

non restricted- no loaded guns in any vehicle (that includes atvs, snow mobiles and might even go as far as a bicycle) on public roads the gun must be out of sight/concealed even if its just under a blanket, but if i get pulled over I don't have to say shit unless asked if i have fire arms in the car.
hunting is different, once out of the municipal no shooting boundary my passenger sits with a gun between their legs/beside them and a clip or a round in one hand, but must step out of the car before loading and shooting. My gun and clip is with in a quick reach.

restricted- needs to be locked up and out of sight, once you go through all the bull shit of getting a transport licence.

prohibited - i think the same as restricted but you need to be grandfathered in and cant apply for one any more.

I think all cop cars need to have turbo. nbspnbsp Then they would understand the necessity of putting your foot down and how uncontrollable the urge is to fucking rail on that shit.

right now i guess the only place they are barred is within the supreme court chambers.

pretty funny to hear people say they dont want someone next to them to have a concealed gun on them? as opposed to a criminal without a permit/bg check?

its so stupid it hurts to even think about.
another thing is in the bill they stated that being on property that is posted no guns, its a max of $75 fine. lol, i think i will just carry in there as 75 bucks is a small price to pay for my life.

That's cool. Here in MN we heard about some stupid WI laws. It'll be good to carry to Eau Claire to the track. Here in MN, posted "no gun" areas (Mall of America? where I carry EVERY time), you have to be asked to leave first, and if a ticket is issued it's $30. For $75, I'm still carrying where I want.
