Fuel lines

Thinking about upgrading my fuel lines on my crx to either -6 or -8 from the gas tank to the fuel rail. Any one have a good write up. Hard line or braided?

3/8" hard line from tank to firewall, AN braided line from firewall to rail.

My setup on my hatch -6 from stock fuel filter to 044 to -6 to rail. Will be a -6 from regulator to stock return.

If i get this car in two weeks, im not sure what I will do. But I do want to redo the whole feed line as a -6.

Get the NPT to -6 90* adapter to remove the banjo fitting at the tank. Then run AN all the way to the rail. There is also a -6 fitting to go into the stock rail. You can remove every banjo bolt fitting in the car. Thats how I did it. I think I spent about 300, but that also included fittings, hose ends, and filter to put my 255 inline as well.

Ran that from the fuel rail fitting, to the filter, and then hose back to the inline pump, from the inline pump to the fitting into the tank.

Hold on. Lemme spoon feed you some pictures too. :)

Fuel pump hanger.

Hose end with braided line hooked up.



Fitting in the rail.

Rail. Adapter. Female 90* Adapter. Fuel Filter. Hose End. Braided Line.

255 Inline.

I like to tap the rail for npt rather than rely on an o-ring. Sure they work, but why not eliminate a potential leak.

I dunno. Im not very familiar with a whole lot of fittings and hose ends. But the VotionSpeed ones have compression fittings in them, which I didnt think was common when it came to AN hose ends. The 90* has a pretty big radius, which on my valve cover hits the hood. The black hose is just the steel braided line coated or painted black. And Im not sold on the teflon lines yet. I really liked the Jegs hose ends and line that I ordered.

I cant say that the VotionSpeed ones wont work for a fuel setup. But I dont think I would put them in my own car. Not to mention, the Jegs "brand" fittings are pretty cheap anyways. A lot of people say Aeroquip makes the fittings for Jegs, and theyre just stamped with the Jegs logo. The quality was very nice. I would definitely recommend them (Jegs).

Friend installed 2 340's to replace 2 255 then relized his car was going super lean, rewired the 2 340's and car still went lean. Rip out the 340's and through the 255's back in, issue gone.

Never used the 340 yet but I have 2 cdm 255lph HP sames as the ones Xeno sells and have good flow.

So good that the stock fprs get ruined and my fuel pressure goes past 200psi.  :noel:

But I also have a boost-a-pump digital box to keep the voltage to my pump 15v all the time and bump up to 22v under boost if I want.

Just one, and it has a stripped bolt for s/c mounting.

It also has cyl. wall finish I do not like, and oil pan rail surface that has too much damage.

I really want to build a6 block b/c I need to use a fresh set of rods and minty so I can a better peice of mind.

Title says "fuel lines" but i'd like to put my question here.  Just in case.


You guys running in tank and external inlines.....    Is it bad to run a stock pump in the tank to feed an inline without a surge tank?   Meaning, will the larger flowing pump fuck with the stock pump that can only pump so much TO the larger pump?

Esplain plz.

I think the larger pump will actually draw through the smaller pump, making it easier for it to feed it. Since the smaller pump is being "sucked" on rather than pushing against the reg to make pressure it is ok.
